I saw my first word cloud from Wordle this summer when I was visiting a friend who had retired from the school system. All of the teachers got together and offered words to describe her which were framed in her kitchen in a colorful word cloud. I remember thinking…how thoughtful, how touching, how beautiful!

First the kids wrote the words on a dry erase board.
Then they typed them into the Wordle website…and…
You can keep generating new word-clouds with different configurations, colors etc until you find the one that is just right.
Now that will make a great Christmas gift, don’t you think? Yes, we are addicted to Wordle, making them for the kid’s teachers now, and bus driver, den leader, piano teacher…have…to…stop…making…Wordles.
Here are the directions for making a word cloud in Wordle.
Go to: http://www.wordle.net/
Click on: Create your own (you will be prompted to enter text and then press go to generate your Wordle)
Print, add a frame and you have an amazing, low cost, high impact present.
Note: For me, it works better in Internet Explorer than Firefox
