Face it, New Year’s resolutions have a bad reputation, what with everyone laughing as they flock to the gym and the healthy food isles of the grocery stores. You have had about a week now to think about what you want to change this year; but, is making a resolution more like making a wish than setting a goal?
What if I told you there was a simple solution to the problem with resolutions?
My husband and I used to write notes to ourselves and each other each New Year, seal them in an envelope and read them the next year, sort of like a time capsule.
I was thinking this would be a GREAT writing activity for the kids. And a fun way to get a conversation started each year about goal setting. It’s simple. Write your resolutions, seal them up in an envelope that reads…Do not open until 2014!
And then put them away…where you can find them a year from now!
Next New Year’s day, along with the good luck legumes (black eyed peas), bring out the envelope and…(you’ll see).
Hoping your 2014 will be filled with amazing memories and a place to write them down!
